Before you buy

Fit out quantities are delivered to a booked slot in one delivery. Anything taller than about 1.2 metres must be anchored to the wall. A filing cabinet with two drawers open will tip forward under its own weight, which is why our cabinets have a counterweight and an interlock that allows one drawer at a time, and why tall shelving comes with wall ties. Shelving loads are stated per shelf as an evenly distributed load, which is how shelving is actually tested. Archive boxes are heavier than people expect: a full foolscap box weighs about 12 to 16 kg, so a bay holding five shelves of six boxes is carrying close to half a tonne and the floor loading matters as much as the shelf rating.
